Re: Love FEst?
Fri, September 28, 2007 - 3:03 PMI have been meaning to see you bitches but my knees have been bad… So I have not been much for dancing, yet I might show up at one of the love fest events… perhaps that belly dancing one…
So here is what I am up to… I’m moving into a warehouse and am brainstorming with a friend about a burning man project. Any advice the opel team can give would be greatly appreciated!!! Message me!!
Peace,
Dave or should I say ddddddddave -

Mon, October 1, 2007 - 11:53 AMi personally can not think or talk about burning man projects right now although I am kinda forced to because decompression is next weekend and we have an after party and dept to pay off and more to do. but ask me in January, that is when the bm itch always takes hold of me, like clockwork..... -

Sorry, I just have to say it. Do you think way too much creative energy is burned on Burning Man projects? Isn't there non-BM stuff that interests you? Don't get me wrong, I appreciate BM art and all, but isn't there other things to spend time on also?
Like building a synthesizer?

Or producing a track?

I know, I know, who am I to tell people where to spend their creative energy? I just sometimes think that BM is a giant creative black hole that sucks everything into it. I would like to see all that creative energy in the Bay Area re-directed to something besides BM just for one year, and see what happens.

Re: Love FEst?
Thu, October 11, 2007 - 12:54 PMFunny you should post this… and I totally agree. Burning Man is a little over ratted. But I have never done anything big at Burning Man and I have a couple of virgin burner friends that I want to build something fun with. Also I feel I have a unique idea that truly captures what is best about burning man that being: Serendipitous participation, random acts of art, heckling (my personal favorite), performance and drinking!!!
On another note: I have actually started making music and e-mail my creations to my friends… it not all dance music and some of it is really raw… I have been looking for people to collaborate with… perhaps some DJ will want to use my stuff in set (Oh so I dream). Anyway if you are interested in being on my every growing e-mail list please message me with your e-mail.
A final thought – Burning Man is where creative folk coagulate… and we don’t know why
